Troy Hartle

BERNIE -- Troy Lee Hartle Sr., 80, died Aug. 20, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 30, 1927, at Bernie, to the late Elmer Lee and Carrie Celious Stearns Hartle, he was a farmer and a member of the White Oak Grove General Baptist Church in rural Bernie.

On Oct. 2, 1948, at Piggott, Ark., he married Nina Margaret Mason who preceded him in death on April 18, 2001.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Melvin Hartle, and one sister, Betty Lou Fuemmeler.

Survivors include three sons, Troy Lee Hartle Jr. of Millersville, James David Hartle of Dexter and Ronald Dale Hartle of Bernie; three daughters, Reba Margaret Berola of Lenexa, Kan., Carolyn Jean Haney of Bloomfield and Tammy Kay Froeschle of Reed Spring; and 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie where services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Bill Pennington will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in rural Dexter.
