DEXTER -- Elva A. McRoy, 88, died Aug. 21, 2008, in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter.
Born Dec. 2, 1919, near Dexter, to the late Thomas Lee and Amanda Trammel Garner, she was a homemaker and member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene at Dexter.
On June 8, 1946, at Piggott, Ark., she married Carl McRoy who he preceded her in death on July 22, 1983.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Acton; and one great-great-grandchild.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Melissa McRoy of Dexter; and five grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Ed Stoner officiating.
Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
