PARMA -- Amanda Thatch, 90, died Aug. 20, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in New Madrid.
Born Sept. 12, 1917, in Mississippi, to the late Melvin and Georgia Sain Walker, she lived in Missouri for over 60 years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Parma where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was on the Mother's Board and Senior Choir. She was also a member of many other gospel singing groups.
She married Ezell Thatch who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Charles Edward Thatch and Ezell Thatch Jr.; and two brothers, Fred Walker and Melvin Charles Walker.
Survivors include: one son, Louis Robert Lee Thatch of Savoy, Ill.; four daughters and a son-in-law, Faye and Tommy Wells of New Madrid, Barbara Robinson of Denton, Texas, Mary Thatch of Cape Girardeau and Dianna Tillman of Parma; and 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Parma Community Center. The Rev. Floyd Wade will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
Williams Funeral Home of Howardville is in charge of arrangements.
