DEXTER -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldog volleyball team made the trip to Dexter High School on Thursday night only to come back with a 25-14, 25-9 loss to the Lady Bearcats.
At times the Lady Bulldogs went on a couple scoring runs that was aided by a few errors by the Lady Bearcats, but head coach Steve Beydler said that lack of consistency was the downfall of this match.
"We have to find some kind of a way to stay consistent," Sikeston head coach Steve Beydler said. "That's what we're lacking right now. We have to be good consistent, not bad consistent."
Keyarra Blissett had three kills and five digs, while Casey Palmer added three kills and five digs. Tyanne Townsend chipped in with two kills and Madeline Davis and Mandy Moore had one ace.
The Lady Bearcats stayed consistent throughout the match with the help of Cathryn Heil, Jessica Satterfield and Abbie Warren.
They each had five kills a piece for Dexter with Warren adding five aces, one dig and one block. Satterfield added one dig and seven assists while Heil had three aces, one dig, one block and nine assists.
Kayla Joyner added one kill, three aces, two digs and one assist. Elisha Flanigan had one kill and four aces.
"I am proud of the girls for working hard tonight," Dexter head coach Kris Vandeven said. "It's good to see the girls using skills that we've been working on in practice."
Dexter (15-5-3, 5-1) will be participating in the I-55 Classic on Saturday and Sikeston's next game will be on Tuesday against Portageville.
