CHAFFEE -- Billy Joe Todd, 77, died at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 4, 2008, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

Born Oct. 2, 1931, at Oran, to the late Elree and Elizabeth Kaylor Todd, he had worked as a lineman for the Union Pacific Railroad and later retired from Boatman's Bank in St. Louis where he was a security guard. A veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War, he was of the Baptist belief.

In 1974, he married Valma Jean Hurt who preceded him in death in 1990.

Three brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Stuart Todd and William Todd of Dupo, Ill.; one sister, Mozell Moore of St. Charles; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were conducted Sunday in the Union Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Full military rites were provided by the Missouri Military Honor Guard.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Home of Chaffee was in charge of arrangements.
