DEXTER -- Walter Williams, 88, died Oct. 21, 2008, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.

Born Dec. 30, 1919, in Painton, to the late John Otis and Lillie Mae Glaspell Williams, he had lived in Southeast Missouri all his life. For the past several years he had lived in Dexter where he was a retired auto mechanic.

Survivors include: three daughters, Sharon McIntyre of Bloomfield, Brenda Burnett of Fountain, Mich., and Susie Everesto of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; one son, Gary Williams of Dexter; one brother, Glendon Williams; and 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Omara, Charles Omara and Leo Omara; and four sisters, Esther Creed, Lorena Smith, Edna Henson and Mary Tucker.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday with Donald Jolliff of Painton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield.
