CHAFFEE -- The Chaffee football team wrapped up its season with a lopsided 43-0 victory over Portageville on Thursday.
The Red Devils moved to 5-5, the second straight year they finished at .500 or better.
Chaffee jumped on the Bulldogs early, scoring 23 points in the opening quarter.
Aaron Horrell tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the opening quarter -- a 42-yarder to Hunter Thomason and a 43-yarder to Collin Dannenmueller.
Horrell added a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter. He finished 6 of 6 for 142 yards passing in the game.
Thomason rushed nine times for 54 yards and a touchdown, while Daniel Lawson ran six times for 59 yards, including a 30-yard scoring scamper.
Jordan Yahn capped Chaffee's scoring with a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Red Devils' defense limited the Bulldogs to 25 yards on 29 rushing attempts. Portageville completed one pass for 3 yards.
"That was a pretty good night," Chaffee coach Charlie Vickery said.
