DUDLEY -- Alvera Hendrix, 81, died Nov. 5, 2008, at Poplar Bluff.
Born Oct. 2, 1927, at Holcomb, daughter of the late Buell and Nona Stacy Drope, he was a member of the Mt. Powerhouse Church in Poplar Bluff and the former owner of Dudley Pool and Tarps.
On June 15, 1946, at Piggott, Ark., she married William Hendrix who preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1987.
Survivors include: one daughter, Janis Earlewine of High Ridge; two brothers, Verlin Drope of Flint, Mich., and Jerry Drope of Kennett; five sisters, Shirley Thompson of St. Louis, Farrell Franklin of Williams Lake, Canada, Lawanda Cook of Kosciusko, Miss., Evelyn Hill of Lake City, Fla., and Verble Stephen of Flint; and two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church in Poplar Bluff with Dr. Ron Webb officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dudley Cemetery.
