The Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to announce our newly revised magazine "The Avenue …Where Sikeston and Miner Meet and Southern Hospitality Begins."
We are excited to be working with our new publisher, Concord and our new magazine editor Jill Bock with the Standard-Democrat. The articles in The Avenue focus on the different attractions we have to offer in our area as well as talking about our healthcare, education, and business opportunities.
This will be our eighth edition of this annual publication that has been utilized over the years by hotels, medical offices, education systems, cities and counties, economic developers, museums, libraries, and is sent out with tourist information and in relocation packets.
The magazine was designed to be used for people who live in our area and by people visiting or considering relocating to the area. It has been the one piece that can be used by the chamber, a city official, or by a church welcoming a new member. The magazines are used at job fairs, and tourism events and are also given out in the Welcome Baskets to new residents. To use a cliche "It tries to be all things to all people."
The chamber started this piece as a way to show the best of what we have to offer and it has done just that, we are very proud of our efforts and the results it has provided. We give out approximately 5,000 copies per year beginning in April of each year. It is now seen as one of the standard marketing items for our community. If you have not reserved you ad space in the 2009 edition please contact the SACC offices at 573-471-2498 and we will have our salesperson Beth Prince set up an appointment.
Before I close I want to welcome three more new members to the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce Family: Alzheimer's Association, Country Boys Cookin' and Fisherman's Net. The Chamber has received 42 new members this year we are proud to work with each and every member of our organization and are looking forward to a successful 2009 for all our membership.
