SIKESTON - The Junior American Legion Auxiliary met Monday evening at the Legion Home and during the business session voted to donate $25 to the Missouri Delta Community Hospital and $10 to the Hospital Insulin and Therapy Fund to be used in Veterans hospitals.
SIKESTON - Shareholders of Sikeston Industrial Development Company will meet at 7:30 p.m. next Wednesday in the city administration building to elect seven directors for three-year terms. Officers for 1969 will be chosen from among the directors elected. The outgoing president of the SIDC is Frank Ferrell.
SIKESTON - Richard Giles, principal of Lee Hunter School, celebrated his 50th birthday Friday. Students dressed in traditional 1950s clothing to mark the occasion. Giles has taught and served as an administrator in the Sikeston School District for 27 years.

SIKESTON - It's never easy stepping into someone else's shoes, but Chuck Martin seems to be managing just fine. For the past two and a half weeks he's been busy learning names, settling into his new environment and forming a trust with his staff. Not a bad start for the new director for the Kenny Rogers Cerebral Center.

BLOOMFIELD - Associate Judge Steve Mitchell, who presides over the 35th Circuit Court Division 3 in Bloomfield, was named to the Judicial Education Committee by an order of the Missouri Supreme Court.
