EAST PRAIRIE -- Junior Byassee, 68, died at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 31, 2009, in the Missouri Delta Medical Center. EAST PRAIRIE -- Junior Byassee, 68, died at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 31, 2009, in the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born July 28, 1940, in Dorena, to Ruth Elizabeth Bennett Byassee of East Prairie and the late J.B. Byassee, he had lived all of his life in Mississippi County where he was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church of East Prairie.

On July 2, 1963, at East Prairie, he married Geraldine Bright who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Danna Byassee, Mike and Tammy Byassee of East Prairie and Jimmy and Laura Byassee of Wynn, Ark.; three brothers, Ronnie Byassee and Charles Byassee of East Prairie and Joe Byassee of Avondale, Ariz.; three sisters, Glenda Jones, Karen Powell and Becky Jones of East Prairie; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Steve Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Jones, Ronnie Lee Jones, Randy Jackson, Brooks Griggs, Jacob Byassee and Chris Byassee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Joe Jackson and Timmy Parker.
