Clara Sue Chappell

PORTAGEVILLE -- Clara Sue Chappell, 79, formerly of Bloomfield, died Jan. 31, 2009, in the Heritage House Nursing Center in Portageville.

Born Oct. 10, 1929, in Medina, Tenn., to the late Clyde and Fannie Louise Barnes Quinn, she had lived in Bloomfield from 1960 until moving to Portageville in 2000, where she was a member of the First Church of God.

On Oct. 11, 1947, she married William Wesley Chappell, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1981.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: two daughters, Rebecca Marler of Portageville and Regina Hux of Essex; one son, William Chappell of Cameron; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter. Pastor Bob Kespelher of Portageville will officiate.

Burial will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
