Kelly, East Prairie see season come to an end on Monday

CHARLESTON -- The No. 1 seeded Charleston Bluejays kicked off the Class 3, District 1 boys tournament with a 77-37 rout of the No. 8 seed Caruthersville Tigers on Monday afternoon.

Scott City 69, Kelly 54

A quick start in the first quarter from the Kelly Hawks turned out all for naught as the No. 5 seed Scott City Rams mildly upset the No. 4 seeded Hawks on Monday night in a 69-54 season ending loss.

NMCC 73, Malden 31

There wasn't much doubt as who would end up the victor after the first quarter was played.

The New Madrid County Central Eagles stormed out with a 20-6 lead after one as they went on to take care of the Malden Greenwave 73-31 on Monday night.

Kennett 80, East Prairie 37

In the round one finale the No. 6 seeded East Prairie Eagles were handed an 80-37 season ending loss at the hands of the No. 3 seed Kennett Indians on Monday night.
