Squirrels make up for early season loss

CHARLESTON -- The team that strikes first, usually has the best chance to win.

That was the tone that the Charleston Squirrels set early in their game against the visiting New Madrid Owls on Tuesday night as the Squirrels avenged an earlier season loss with an 8-3 win.

"This is a team that's beat us earlier in the season and we came out and swung the bats well and did some good things offensively," Squirrels head coach Michael Minner said. "We clicked tonight and played a good game. We put all the pressure on them."
