SIKESTON -- The third go-round of the 57th Annual Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo produced new leaders in two events on Thursday night.
Matt Sherwood and Rhen Richard moved into first place with a time of 4.9 in the team roping competition while Lorie Manning took over Sikeston native Carrie Thomas' first place spot in the barrel racing with a time of 16.11.
Leading the rest of Thursday nights events was Cort Scheer with an 86 in the saddle bronc riding event. Jesse James Kirby finished second with an 85 while Jesse Bail scored an 82.
In the steer wrestling event, Todd Seehn finished with a time of 6.1 to lead Thursday's pack. Dare Hanna had a time of 9.3 and Casey Martin finished with a time of 10.9.
Jerome Schneeberge finished finished with a 9.1 in the tie down roping event. Rick Greenier and Cade Swor rounded out the competition with times of 11.1 and 11.2 respectively.
The bareback riding competition was led by Jessy Davis with a score of 81. Kelly Timberman finished with an 80 while Josh Shackelford had a score of 77.
There were no qualifying rides during the bull riding competition.
The fourth and final go-round was held on Saturday night. Results from the last go-round will be in the Monday edition of the Standard Democrat.
