Wednesday, September 30, 2009

ELLSINORE -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs improved to 11-7 on Tuesday with another come-from -behind win, this time 3-1 over East Carter County on the road.

Sikeston trailed 1-0 going into the top of the seventh, when the Lady Bulldogs busted out for three runs.

The inning started when Krystal Henson reached base on a base hit and advanced to third after Kelsie Cooper and Sydney Davied both reached on errors. With the bases loaded, Sarah Dixon was hit by a pitch to score Henson, tying the game at 1-1.

Nicki James then hit a ball to the East Carter shortstop who tried to get Cooper at home plate, but Cooper was able to score, giving the Lady Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. Davied later scored on a Courtney Collins fielder's choice to end the scoring.
