A cotton picker dumps its load of cotton in preparation for another journey down a cotton field south of Sikeston Monday afternoon. Farmers worked quickly Sunday and Monday to begin harvesting some of the local cotton crop in anticipation of today's rains. The rain is expected to continue, again slowing the harvest, which is an estimated two weeks behind schedule in Southeast Missouri.
