Crusaders use big plays to end Sikeston's season

JEFFERSON CITY -- The Jefferson City Helias Crusaders have met up with two different Sikeston Bulldogs teams and managed to shatter championship dreams in both instances. The first was in 2001 on the baseball diamond as they claimed the state championship at Taylor Field on the campus of the University of Missouri. The latest defeat came in semifinal action on Saturday afternoon in front of a packed house on the football field as Helias cruised to a 37-8 victory, paving their way to the Class 4 championship this Friday in St. Louis.
