SIKESTON -- Parents who are looking for ways to keep the kids entertained over their holiday break from school have more opportunities than they may think.
Sikeston Public Library children's librarian Ann Thompson said visiting the library is one great activity for children, but parents can also get many ideas while in the library.
"Just look in the magazine section at the library. We have a subscription to 'Family Fun' magazine, which this month has articles offering suggestions for parents to keep their children busy over the holiday break," Thompson said.
Thompson said she recommends parents doing crafts with their children.
"I would suggest that they read a book, and whatever story they choose to read, to build an activity around that," Thompson said.
