CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Sikeston Bulldogs golf team finished fifth in the SEMO Conference tournament with a total of 357 points on Tuesday afternoon held at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau.
"A couple of the guys struggled because they never have played Dalhousie before," Sikeston golf coach Andy McGill said. "Although it was a good day to play golf, minus the wind.
"Conference is always tough to compete in."
Conor MacGillivray led the Bulldogs with a 78 which was good enough for a third overall finish. Evan Deere tied for fourth place overall with an 80.
"Conor plays there a lot so I think that had something to do with it," McGill said. "It was good to see him end the season on a good note."
Ben Murray ended with a 98, Kirk Hoggatt finished with a 101 while Conner Landers had a 111.
The Poplar Bluff Mules won the conference championship with a team score of 328. Jackson came in second with a 333, Notre Dame was third with a 342 and the Dexter Bearcats took fourth with a 343.
