Event organizer Blair Moran of the local American Legion speaks during the Memorial Day ceremony held Monday in Sikeston's Veterans Park. Sunny skies contributed to a large turnout at the ceremony -- one of many held across the country on Monday to recognize those who who made the ultimate sacrifice during their service to their country. Olin Parks, junior vice commander of the Missouri VFW, was the guest speaker at Sikeston's event.
