Jackson ousted from Regional on Monday

WELLINGTON, Kan. --The Jackson Senior Babe Ruth baseball team was eliminated from the Midwest Plains regional tournament Monday in Wellington, Kan., with an 11-2 loss to Iowa.

Jackson, the Missouri champion, finished fourth in the eight-state tournament and closed its season with a 29-6 record.

Jackson had opened the tournament with a 6-2 victory over the same team from Ottumwa, Iowa.

The local team went 2-2 in the double-elimination tournament, also defeating North Dakota and losing to Colorado.

Iowa is the same team that eliminated Charleston on Sunday.
