SIKESTON -- Believe it or not, back-to-school time is just around the corner. And beginning this week, the Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation county offices will hold back-to-school fairs to help low-income families get ready. SIKESTON -- Believe it or not, back-to-school time is just around the corner.

And beginning this week, the Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation county offices will hold back-to-school fairs to help low-income families get ready.

"There are a lot of people whose income is limited and it's hard to pay the utilities and buy food as it is," said Carol Cohen, community resource developer for DAEOC in Scott County. "When they come up on the expense to buy school supplies, the money is just not there."
