BENTON -- Scott County will keep its prosecuting attorney.
Voters chose incumbent Paul R. Boyd over former prosecuting attorney Cristy Baker-Neel -- 1,697 votes to 1,137 -- during Tuesday's primary election.
"I think it's a stamp on the job this office has tried to do the last eight years -- and will continue to do so," Boyd said after learning of his victory. He also thanked his supporters.
The Democratic candidates were without opposition from other political parties which resulted in the race being decided before the general election in November.
