PEMISCOT COUNTY -- Three people, two of which were children, died as a result of a vehicle crash on Friday in Pemiscot County, while two others are in serious condition.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred around 3:50 p.m. at the intersection of Missouri Highway 64 and Route NN, when a northbound vehicle driven by Letisha A. Ward, 26, of Blytheville, Ark., pulled from a stop sign into the path of an eastbound freight liner driven by Ricky C. Winkle, 58, of Hornersville.
Ward and two of her passengers, Shyannah C. Taber, 3, and Briannah C. Taber, 6, also of Blytheville, were pronounced dead at the scene. Passenger Robert L. Ward, 29, of Blytheville, sustained serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance to the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, Tenn., while Adreannah Taber, 5, also of Blytheville, was taken by air ambulance to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis for serious injuries.
No injuries were reported for Winkle.
