EAST PRAIRIE -- The Caruthersville Tigers are still undefeated after rolling the East Prairie Eagles 47-7 on Friday night at East Prairie High School.

The Tigers scored on their first two possessions to take the home crowd out of it early. A 2-yard run by Elbie Fonda capped off Caruthersville's eight-play first drive. Just two plays put the Tigers in the end zone on their second drive after a 39-yard pass to David Shaw from quarterback Perry Middleton to go up 14-0 in the first quarter.

A 10-yard pass and a 1-yard run, both by Caruthersville's Vohland Fonda gave the Tigers a commanding 28-0 lead at the half.

Although East Prairie scored on their first possession in the third quarter on a 33-yard pass from Connor Scott to Aaron Miller, it wouldn't be the boost they needed to topple the Tigers.

Aaron Miller and Zach Shipman led the Eagles with 73 and 72 yards respectively. Scott connected on 14-of-21 passing for 154 yards and one touchdown.

Vohland Fonda carried the Tigers with nine touches for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Darius Johnson and Elbie Fonda had 91 and 71 yards and each scored a touchdown.

Middleton finished with 136 yards passing and two touchdowns on 8-of-12 passing.

East Prairie (6-3) will face Malden next week for a chance to qualify for the post season as Caruthersville (9-0) clinched the Class 2, District 1 title and will face Charleston next week.
