SIKESTON -- Many athletes in the Standard Democrat coverage area have been performing well at the college level. Here is a list of those who went on to further their basketball careers. SIKESTON -- Many athletes in the Standard Democrat coverage area have been performing well at the college level. Here is a list of those who went on to further their basketball careers.

Six local athletes are contributing to the success of both the boys and girls programs of Three Rivers Community College.

Helping the Lady Raiders to a 15-11 record are Dexter graduates Ashlee Taylor and Jill Temples. Taylor, a sophomore, has played and started in 21 games while leading the team with 12.9 points per game. She is also tied for the team lead in rebounding with 4.7 per game.

Temples is averaging eight points while starting in all 23 games she has played as a sophomore.

Delta standout Jodi Menz, also a sophomore, has played in 23 games and has scored 1.5 points per game as well as 2.5 rebounds per game. Kelly graduate Sam Fisher, who is a freshman at TRCC, has saw time in five games this year.

Charleston's Deonte Jones is averaging 6.6 points for the TRCC men's squad as well as 2.3 rebounds. Donnell Minnis, of Portageville, has scored 3.4 points per game and pulled down 2.1 rebounds a game as well. Both are freshman for the 16-8 Raiders.

After two successful seasons with the TRCC Raiders, Charleston standout Jamarcus Williams transferred to the University of Missouri -- St. Louis (UMSL). Williams, a 6-4 junior, has played in 22 games and started in two. He is averaging 3.1 points and 2.7 rebounds a game for the 14-8 Tritons.

Dexter graduates Katelyn and Cathryn Heil are playing for Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla. Katelyn Heil has played in 14 games, including one start, and is averaging 3.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 14 minutes per game. Cathryn Heil has saw time in eight games.

Scott Central standouts Bobby Hatchett, Drew Thomas and Markita Mosley are continuing to shine on the hardwood at their respective schools.

Hatchett, a freshman at Midland Community College in Midland, Texas, has played in 19 games scoring 3.5 points per. He is also averaging 2.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game. The Chaparrals are ranked No. 5 nationally in the National Junior College Athletic Association and are currently riding a 14-game winning streak.

As a sophomore at Mineral Area Community College, Thomas is averaging 7.2 points per game. Along with New Madrid County Central graduate Josh Minner, who is averaging 5.2 points per game as well as 4.5 rebounds for the Cardinals, Thomas and Minner have helped guide Mineral Area to a 9-16 record.

Mosley, a freshman at Moberly, has played in 23 games and is averaging 6.4 points. She has also grabbed 4.2 rebounds per game for the 7-17 Lady Greyhounds.
