BassBusters host first tournament of the year

MARION, Ky. -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their first tournament of the year on April 3rd with the weigh-in at the Fenton ramp on Kentucky Lake.

Ty Garrett won the tournament with four bass weighing 12 lbs. 14 oz. Greg Gooch was second with four bass weighing 10 lbs. 8 oz. and also took Big Bass honors with a 4 lb. 11 oz. bass. Leven Cox was third with three bass weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz.

Mitch Allen won the "Lucky Drawing".

The weather was unseasonably warm and very windy for early April. Most of the top finishers reported catching their fish on jigs and jerkbaits.

The club travels to Kentucky Lake for the second tournament of the year of May 1 out of the KenLake Marina.

Camaraderie and competition are the hallmarks of the BassBusters and new members are always welcome. Annual dues are $25 and owning a boat is not required for membership.
