SIKESTON -- The National Weather Service in Paducah, Ky., reports a tornado might have touched down near Chaffee and Kelso on Friday afternoon.
The weather service said at about 4:47 p.m. a Chaffee Police Officer reported a rotating funnel cloud east of Chaffee. The Scott County emergency management director notified the agency of a shed destroyed and damage to the underpinning of a double-wide mobile home near Oran on Route 261, as well as the destruction of a double-wide mobile home from a tornado touch-down, according to the weather service website.
Also reported was lighting striking a house on County Road 449 between Morley and Sikeston, creating a structure fire.
