COOTER -- The Risco Tigers moved on to the semifinals of the Class 1, District 1 tournament on Monday after defeating Southland in six innings, 10-0.

The Tigers (11-11) had 11 hits and scored took control early. The third-seeded Tigers were up 5-0 after the first two innings. They pushed across five more in the sixth to end it.

Jordan Pavy received the win in a complete game effort on the mound. He allowed just four hits and struck out three while walking none.

Matt Cumins led Risco with a 4 for 4 performance which included a double and two RBIs.

Pavy and Caleb McCord added two hits apiece. McCord and Luke Bixler each had two RBIs as well.

Risco will play second-seeded Holcomb for the third time this year at 2 p.m. for a chance to advance to the district championship game. Holcomb has outscored the Tigers 10-4 in their previous two meetings combined.

CLASS 2, DISTRICT 1

Caruthersville 11, South Pemiscot 6

SENATH -- The South Pemiscot Bulldogs ended their season at 8-11 with a 11-6 loss to Caruthersville in the first round of the Class 2, District 1 Tournament.

With the game tied 6-6 in the top of the sixth, Caruthersville plated five unearned runs and held the Bulldogs scoreless the remainder of the way to post the win.

Ryan Nolen finished the day 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two doubles for South Pemiscot while Kevin Crouch was 2-for-3 and Hunter Williams 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

The Portageville Bulldogs flirted with an upset on Monday, but fell to the second seeded Twin Rivers Royals 5-4 in eight innings.

Portageville finishes the season with a record of 4-13-1.
