JEFFERSON CITY -- East Prairie senior Jennifer Nicholson placed third and fourth in her two throwing events at the Class 2 state championship meet at Dwight T. Reed Stadium in Jefferson City.
Nicholson placed third in the discus with a throw of 131-06 after scratching on two of her attempts.
She came in as the second-seeded thrower in the discus but was beat out by Lauren Allen of Fatima and Haley Heuer of Harrisburg. Allen threw 137-11.
In the shot put, Nicholson took fourth after a 38-11 3/4 throw.
Nicholson was responsible for all of East Prairie's team points of 11 which put them at 24th overall.
Sumner Foster was the only Bluejay to point in the boys' Class 2 state championship.
Foster, a sophomore, jumped 6-0 in the high jump which placed him seventh.
Charleston freshman Dyrel Pierce placed 15th in the triple jump with a distance of 39-3.
