Thursday accident

A truck sits against a traffic sign post at Main and Malone after a two-car accident on Thursday afternoon. The accident was reported to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety at 5:25 p.m. Full details were not available as of press time, but apparently the accident occurred when a rescue squad personnel vehicle was traveling through the intersection en route to responding to another accident, using lights and sirens as directed, and was struck by another vehicle, which apparently did not see and hear the warnings. Both drivers reported they did not see the other driver until the vehicles collided.
