At least two persons were injured when three vehicles collided in an accident reported at 10:46 a.m. Thursday on East Malone Avenue near Mitchell Street. According to Lt. Jim McMillen with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety a vehicle had stopped in the eastbound lane to make a turn onto Mitchell. A second vehicle came to a stop behind the first, however, McMillen said, a third driver failed to notice traffic had stopped and that vehicle struck the vehicle in front shoving it into the first vehicle. McMillen said two vehicles received extensive damage and two persons were taken by ambulance from the scene. The officer went on to warn drivers to be cautious in that area and on the alert for traffic which has slowed or stopped.
