Felix Betts
DETROIT -- Felix Betts, 85, died Nov. 26, 2011, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born March 5, 1926, in Charleston, Mo., to the late Elijah and Louise Thomas Betts Sr. and had lived in Detroit for over 55 years. He attended New Testament Church of God In Christ and Saint Mark Church of God In Christ in Detroit and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On Nov. 14, 1954, he married Ann Darden who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Gwendolyn Johnson of Chicago Heights, Ill.; two brothers, Gary Betts of Indianapolis and Steve Betts of Charleston; eight sisters, Dorcas Spence and Deborah Turner of Charleston, Ruth Simpson and Jennie Townsend of Kankakee, Ill., LaBirdia Moore, Betty Burns and Delores Salmon of St. Louis and Rochelle McVay of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandsons.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon Saturday at Opportunity of Church of God in Christ in Charleston with Steve Betts, pastor, officiating.
Burial with full military rites will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
The Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
