BENTON -- Francis Marion "Jim" Hall, 78, died Feb. 11, 2012, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 17, 1934, at Miston, Tenn., to the late Marvin Hall and Viola Clark Bryson, he was the owner of trucking companies. He raced stock cars and sprint cars at several tracks across the country and competed in the ARCA and NASCAR Winston Cup Series. He was a member of the United States Auto Club and a private pilot certified to fly several types of airplanes and a helicopter. He was a former employee of General Motors in Flint, Mich., and had worked for Bogsia Tile contracting west coast water systems in Brawley, Calif.

On March 19, 1990, he married Lisa Loureen Hall, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: four sons, James Hall of Sikeston, Greg Hall and Jeff Hall of Charleston and John Hall of Bertrand; six daughters, Tammy Taylor of Bertrand, Shelly Parton of Haines City, Fla., DeDe Bethune of Charleston, DeAnna Triplett and Tami Harvell of East Prairie and Debra Hall of Benton; one stepson, Mark Adams of Benton; one brother, Tommy Bryson of Cuba, Ky.; two sisters, Sue Workman of Fulton, Ky., and Katie Moore of Dover, Tenn.; and 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

One brother, Jerry Hall, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Stanley Triplett of East Prairie and Tim Russell of Dexter will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, James Patrick Hall, Chris Hall, Todd Hall, Tim Taylor, Jeff Hall Jr., Derek Hall, Kyle Kemp, Drew Kemp, Jonathan Hall and Clay Parton.
