BLOOMFIELD -- Mildred Unger, 88, died March 26, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield. Born April 11, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Herman and Lillian Hincke Macke, she was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield and a member of the Bloomfield Chapter No. 385 Order of the Eastern Star. She had been employed as a secretary for IXL in Dexter and Bernie and Griffin Contracting in Bloomfield and as a cashier at the Bank of Bloomfield...

BLOOMFIELD -- Mildred Unger, 88, died March 26, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield.

Born April 11, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Herman and Lillian Hincke Macke, she was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield and a member of the Bloomfield Chapter No. 385 Order of the Eastern Star. She had been employed as a secretary for IXL in Dexter and Bernie and Griffin Contracting in Bloomfield and as a cashier at the Bank of Bloomfield.

On April 11, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, she married Bloyce Unger who preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1987.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jack Van Sandt of Longwood, Fla.; two grandchildren, Mark Alan Van Sandt and Michelle Van Sandt; and two great-grandchildren, Christian Van Sandt and Noah Van Sandt.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
