Howard Welches

PIEDMONT -- The Rev. Howard F. Welches, 87, formerly of Fredericktown and Charleston, died April 9, 2012, in Piedmont.

Born Aug. 5, 1924, in Kokomo, Ind., son of the late Howard F. and Elise Anderson Welches, he was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

On Sept. 16, 1945, in Elwood, Ind., he married Pauline H. Brooks, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jay K. and Nancy Welches of Monticello, Ind.; one daughter and son-in-law, Joy K. and Gary Rhodes of Piedmont; one brother, Lloyd Welches of Farmland, Ind.; one sister, Wanda Singer of Elwood; and three grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Gillum, Helen Mier and Carolyn Rushton; and two brothers, Albert Welches and Leon Welches.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday at the Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Pinecrest Camp Chapel in Cherokee Pass. The Rev. Mike Palmer and John Bouldrey will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Charleston.
