Julia Ferrara

DEXTER -- Julia Ferrara, 90, died April 8, 2012, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Oct. 2, 1921, in Powe, to the late Douglas and Nancy Cowan Estes, she was a seamstress at Elders Manufacturing and a member of the Dexter Church of God.

On Oct. 24, 1943, in Dexter, she married Michillino Mike Ferrara who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2006.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, John Estes, Jewell Estes, Earl Estes, Ernie Estes and Sylvester Estes, and six sisters, Ella Brown, Lilly Estes, Flora Hayes, Mary Lou Snider and Nellie Cato.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Shirley Ferrara of Alturas, Calif.; one sister, Sarah M. Mossman of Dexter; and one grandson, Michael Scott Ferrara.

Visitation is scheduled from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

A private burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
