NMCC coach notches 250th victory; Oran no-hits Braves
DELTA -- New Madrid County Central softball coach Steve Rogers earned his 250th win as the Lady Eagles defeated Delta 5-0 on the road Wednesday.
NMCC (10-0) scored a single run in the second inning before breaking the game open in the top of the sixth, scoring six runs.
Mary Clara Hayes had two doubles for NMCC while Katie Rausch added two singles.
Delta's Myra Henson and Lyndse Hamby each had two hits.
Michaela Townsend earned the win for NMCC allowing no runs in seven innings while giving up just six hits and no walks, striking out 10.
NMCC will be going after their 54th consecutive victory on Monday when they host Twin Rivers.

SIKESTON -- The Oran Eagles improved to 8-2 with a 17-1 road win over Scott County Central on Wednesday.
Oran's Kody Moore earned the win, allowing one run on no hits in four innings while walking three and striking out eight. Chance Tenkhoff pitched a perfect fifth.
Nathan Holland picked up the loss for Scott Central (2-6).
Oran scored 17 runs on eight hits, taking advantage of eight Scott Central errors and 15 walks. Blake Carlyle was 2 for 3 for with 3 RBI to lead the Eagles.
