Sikeston, Scott County continue to discuss 911 consolidation
SIKESTON - City and county officials continue to discuss the possibility of merging their E911 dispatching.
In a special meeting Wednesday at the Sikeston City Council Chambers, Scott County Commissioners and Sikeston city officials returned to the table to review the costs of merging their dispatching systems.
According to City Manager Doug Friend, no decision was made during the meeting.
County officials indicated they would again review the figures which initially indicated a contractual agreement with the county paying $500,000 would cover about half of the estimated cost of a consolidated center.
