Evelyn Teachout

SIKESTON -- Evelyn C. Teachout, 82, died May 6, 2012, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born June 14, 1929, in Scott County, to the late Albert and Grace McClanahan Crosno, she was a secretary for Ed Patterson Bookkeeping and Tax Service, retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston.

On Nov. 22, 1947, in Kennett, she married Herbert H. "Bert" Teachout, who preceded her in death on March 13, 1998.

Also preceding her in death were one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kathy Teachout of Sikeston and Terry and Hilary Teachout of New York City; one brother, Albert Crosno Jr. of Benton, Ky.; one sister, Peggy Presson of Diehlstadt; and one granddaughter, Lauren Dukes of Houston.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
