ST. CHARLES -- Charlotte Bailey, formerly of Sikeston, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the age of 76.
She was born March 11, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to the late Wyman Lloyd Henry and Katharine Elizabeth Newman Henry. In 1960, she married David Hall Bailey, who preceded her in death in 2001.
Mrs. Bailey graduated from Southwest High School of Kansas City, Mo., in 1954, and from the University of Missouri in 1958. She and her husband owned and operated Bailey and Bailey Insurance and Real Estate for over 20 years in Sikeston. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the First Christian Church and had attended St. John United Church-Christ in St. Charles. She was also a member of PEO in Sikeston and in St. Charles. She had been a Girl Scout Leader (successfully tried every craft ever thought of) and was a wonderful friend to all who knew her.
Survivors include: two children, Michele Bailey of St. Louis and David (Dana) Bailey Jr. of O'Fallon; two grandchildren, Lauren and Jackson Bailey of O'Fallon; and nine nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and -nephews, and three great-great-nieces and -nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Don and Patrick Henry.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 19, 2012, with a memorial service to follow at noon at First Christian Church, 1006 N. Main St. in Sikeston, MO 63801.
The family is being served by The Baue Funeral and Memorial Center, 3950 West Clay St., in St. Charles.
