SIKESTON -- Wanda Sue Leonard, 83, died at 7:10 p.m. May 25, 2012, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born Jan. 15, 1929, in Calloway County, Ky., to the late Marvin R. and Vernie (Tabers) Howard.
On Nov. 28, 1950, she was married to William Richard "Bill" Leonard at Long Beach, Calif., and he preceded in death Feb. 15, 1993.
A resident of Sikeston since 1962, she previously resided in Kentucky. She was a former member of First Baptist Church and was an avid Bingo player. She was a housewife and business partner of Leonard Heating and Air Conditioning.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Soozi and Jim Hovis of Sikeston, Pam Yant and friend John Graham of Sikeston, and Sherrie and Chris Perry of Decatur, Miss.; one daughter-in-law, Darlene Leonard of Sikeston; nine grandchildren, Paul and Shannon Mullin of Gray Ridge, Brent and Lisa Mullin of Sikeston, Vicki and Brandon Forrestor of Aurora, Marie and Jon Hayes of Sikeston, Kasi Yant of Sikeston, Charlie LeMaster of East Prairie, Katherine Leonard of St. Louis, Emily Lewonard of Decatur and Will Leonard of Sikeston. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Rick Leonard; and by two brothers, J.D."Blackie" Howard and Hurrell B. "Cotton" Howard.
Friends may call from 5 till 8 p.m. Monday, May 28 at Blanchard Funeral Chapel where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29 with the Rev. Bob Medlock officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Paul Mullin, Brent Mullin, Vicki Forrester, Marie Hayes, Kasi Yant, Charlie Lemaster, Katherine Leonard, Emily Leonard, Will Leonard and Joe Yant.
