JEFFERSON CITY -- Christopher J. Miller, of Doniphan, is the new prosecuting attorney for Ripley County. The position became vacant after the resignation of the former prosecuting attorney, Monte C. Phillips.
Miller, a Democrat, operates a law practice in Doniphan and previously served as the Ripley County prosecuting attorney from 1983 to 1990, from 1999 to 2002, and from 2007 to 2010. He also serves as the city attorney for both Doniphan and Naylor. Miller has served in several leadership positions during his 30 years as a member of the Doniphan Kiwanis Club, and during his 10 years as a board member of the Doniphan Neighborhood Assistance Program. He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Missouri.
"Chris Miller has outstanding qualifications to again serve as the prosecuting attorney of Ripley County, and I am pleased to appoint him to this position," Gov. Jay Nixon said. "I am confident he will ably serve the people of this county in this vital position."
