SIKESTON -- Geneva Maxine Gipson, 90, of Sikeston, died July 28, 2012, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born Jan. 24, 1922, in Palestine, Ill., to the late Robert Webster and Issie Evelene Roberts Ozment, she was a homemaker and member of the Miner Baptist Church. She previously worked for 21 years at the International Shoe Co. in Sikeston and also worked at the Ace Hardware Co. in Sikeston.

On Jan. 21, 1939, in Poplar Bluff, she married John James Gipson, who preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1984.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Lyman Ozment, one grandson, John Melford Gipson, and one half-brother and one half-sister.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, John and Judy Gipson Jr. of Ballwin; one daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Homer Trigg Jr. of Sikeston; and three grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Wendy Trigg of Altus, Okla., Molly and Darrin Propst of Dexter and Cathy and Scott Wiebe of St. Louis.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ron Shrum, associate pastor of Miner Baptist Church, and the Rev. David Ross, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston, officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jim Barnes, Jerry Green, Merlin Hagy, Bill Littleton, Bob Stinnett and Larry Tetley.
