SIKESTON -- Harold Poole, 87, died July 30, 2012, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born April 19, 1925, in Cairo, Ill., to the late John Elvis and Effie Gladys Brown Poole, he was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. He had served in the U.S. Army Air Force and was a member of the Optimist Club where he served as secretary and treasurer from 1972-1973. He was a member of the Federal Investigators Association and had been a construction contractor before retiring.
On Nov. 24, 1972, he married Patricia A. Ireland who preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 2000.
Two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Herman T. Poole of Columbia and Dr. Anthony "Tony" Poole of Sikeston; three daughters, Diane Ireland of Huber Heights, Ohio, Marilyn Anita Lawson of Vancouver, Wash., and Debra Eattis of Jackson; one brother, Maynard Poole of Paducah, Ky.; one sister, Rose Robinson of Joliet, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ponder Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Jack Britt, Blair Moran, Ben Tanner, Craig Brinkman, Peyton Mink, Christian Mink and Scott Poole.
