PORTAGEVILLE -- Retha "Viola" Farmer, 102, died Aug. 5, 2012, at Benchmark Healthcare in Portageville.
Born May 14, 1910, in Muse, Okla., daughter of the late Lucinda Young Reid and Mack Reid, she was a Member of the First Church of God.
On Nov. 2, 1928, in East St. Louis, Ill., she married Leo Farmer, who preceded her in death in 1975.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Farmer; six brothers, Mack Reid, Frank Reid, Fred Reid, Wiley Reid, Douglas Reid and L.C. Reid; and three grandchildren, Larry Mathenia, Tina Faye Dean and Ross Eugene Farmer
Survivors include: one son, Leo "Gene" Farmer of Portageville; one daughter, Leota Faye Mathenia of Pacific; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at First Church of God in Portageville with the Rev. Bob Kesphler officiating.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
