WEIR, Kan. -- Nora Blyth Lawrence, 92, died Aug. 12, 2012, at her home.

Born April 1, 1920, in Greenway, Ark., to the late Hyram and Dolly Tinker Whitaker, she had lived in Catron, Mo., and Parma, Mo., before moving to Kansas 10 years ago. She attended the Church of God in Parma.

On March 21, 1937, in Catron, she married Charlie Fred Lawrence who preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1987.

She was also preceded in death by three sons, Earnest Lawrence, Gary Lawrence and Jerry Lawrence, four brothers, Luther Whitaker, Lewis Whitaker, Cecil Whitaker and Olin Whitaker, and three sisters, Corda Bee Meadows, Helen Reed and Irene Lawrence.

Surviving are: three sons, Charles Lawrence of Sikeston, Mo., Jimmy Lawrence of Dexter, Mo., and Harold Lawrence of Millington, Tenn.; six daughters, Carol Lawrence and Lorene Townsend of Parma, Barbara Jackson of Commerce, Mo., Geraldine Brackney of Weir, Thelma Tatum of Batesville, Ark., and Vivian Hunt of Dexter; one brother, Winford Whitaker of Puxico; two sisters, Mary Dugger and Darlene Parks of Dudley, Mo.; and 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Frank Townsend of Parma officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
