CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Illinois Department of Transportation would like to alert motorists traveling in the Cairo area that the US 60/62 bridge over the Mississippi River will be closed.
The closure is scheduled to begin on Monday and will extend through Aug. 22. The closure will be effective during the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Also, the bridge will be restricted to one lane during daylight hours from Aug. 23 to Aug. 31.
