Sue Dickerson

BERTRAND -- Sue Dickerson, 76, died Aug. 16, 2012, at her home.

Born Feb. 27, 1936, in McCracken County, Ky., to the late J.R. Peyton and Rebecca Peyton Johnson, she had lived since 1986 in Bertrand where she was a former member of the First Baptist Church. She was a current member of the New Beginnings Fellowship in Charleston.

On Nov. 6, 1958, she married James C. Dickerson who preceded her in death on July 1, 2007.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, Clifton Dickerson and John Robert Dickerson, and one great-granddaughter, Laura Jean Folmer.

She is survived by: one daughter and son-in-law, Sharla and Bruce Purdie of Bertrand; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Retha Dickerson of Powderly, Texas; one brother, Jack Peyton of Saucier, Miss.; one sister, Sherry Toumey of Tucson, Ariz.; and 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Beginnings Fellowship Church with Ron Aldridge, pastor, officiating.

Arrangements are with the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
